California Trip: Day one, July 28th

Trip to Disneyland!

We had been planning for a couple of years to go to California with the whole Woods clan. We thought it would be a fun way to celebrate Matt graduating from BYU. When we planned it, we didn't know that Matt would have to start his graduate program in Architecture in May. This meant that his semester was ending the week we had planned the trip.
Everyone was coming from all their various states.
So, we had to drive down Thursday (the 28th) and drive back Sunday (Aug 1st) so that Matt could get back for his final exam week.
Yikes.
But, despite the shortened trip, we had a great time! It was so much fun to see everyone. And, Disneyland and California Adventure are always a favorite.

Matt Jr. was in control of the camera on the way down. So, we got road signs. . .

self-portraits. . .

Traveling companions. . .

City images. . .

And more road signs.

We arrived Thursday, late-afternoon, at Dolphin Cove.
This is a picture of our room door and patio.
It was really nice (thanks Grandma and Grandpa Woods for the rooms!)

Then we headed out so the kids could go to the beach.
We drove down to Laguna beach.

We got separated somewhat on the way there. So this is the crew that we met up with.
Uncle Josh, Aunt Anita, Patricia running, Aunt Darla, Uncle Sam, and Eliza.

Eliza stayed on the beach, far away from that water. She was happy just to play in the sand.

Some, like Matt, explored.

Others, like Audrey, contemplated life.

Others played in the water, like Aunt Darla -

Matt and Marsha Kate,

and Ashley.

Fun and beautiful!
