June 19th-21st Southern Utah

For Father's Day weekend we went down to Kate's house. Kevin flew into Las Vegas from Indiana. Grandma and Grandpa drove down to pick him up and brought him back to Kate's where we met up with them. On Saturday, the 20th, we went to St. George. They have a water play place in the park and the kids wanted to try it last time we were down, so we came prepared this time.

This is how we saw Uncle Kevin most of the time. But really it was fun to see him and we just wish Aunt Becky could have come as well. (She was finishing up another trip to Uganda for her school research).

By the end, Ashley's diaper was taking on a life of its own from all the water she soaked up.(Kevin's photo)

You know where we had to get lunch. (Kevin's photo)

Then, that evening we went in to Zion's National Park.

We hiked to the Emerald Pools

This is the lower pool

The water from the middle pool cascades down over the rocks.

The trail was interesting. It started out like this . . . (Kevin's photo)

Then evolved into something like this once you were past the lower pool.

Then eventually became this. Some of the rocks were bigger than Ashley. The kids all did an awesome job and we hiked all the way up to the upper pool.

The hike was fun and we felt like we had accomplished something cool.

Eliza had stayed with Grandma and Aunt Kate. But that isn't why she looks so ornery in this picture. Not sure why- she is usually our happy baby. (Kevin's photo)

I just really liked this picture that Kevin caught of Ashley.

Father's Day morning, before church. We gave Dad some books about Disneyland (all the facts and secrets you would want to know.) G-ma and G-pa gave him a book on the history of In-N-Out burger :)

We gave Grandpa a Bill Cosby CD and a Smetna CD (Classical music).
I feel so fortunate to have such amazing men in my life! Matt and Grandpa - you are the greatest!

You can also see Kate in the background of the picture, being the fabulous hostess that hse always is. Thanks Kate for letting up escape to your desert paradise!
